Haruhi Suzumiya is a fictional character created by Nagaru Tanigawa and
illustrated by Noizi Ito. She first appeared as the protagonist of the light
novel series Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu, which was later adapted into the anime
television series The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Her voice was provided by
Aya Hirano in the anime series, for which Hirano won the Seiyū Award for Best
