The Hard-Ons released 17 consecutive Number 1 singles on the Australian alternative charts during the 1980s and early 1990s, making the punk rock group one of the continent's most successful alternative acts during the final decades of the 20th century. Formed in the Sydney suburb of Punchbowl, New South Wales, in 1981, Hard-Ons' lineup quickly coalesced around drummer Keish de Silva, guitarist Peter "Blackie" Black, and bassist Ray Ahn.
