Gringo Mayer
Gringo Mayer’s real name is Tim Mayer, and he was born in September 1988 in
Ludwigshafen am Rhein, where he grew up in the Gartenstadt neighborhood. Today
he lives in Mannheim. As a singer-songwriter, he sings in the Kurpfalz dialect
to earthy blues music; for a long time, however, he wrote lyrics in English and
Standard German. In 2008, he co-founded the band Die Felsen, which disbanded in
2014. He then moved to Freiburg im Breisgau, where he worked as a waiter and, on
the side, wrote his first lyrics in the local dialect: in 2016, he wrote the
song “Monnemer Dreck” for the film...
