George "Wild Child" Butler, born George Butler on October 1, 1936, in
Autaugaville, Alabama, was an American harmonica blues musician and singer.
Nicknamed "Wild Child" from a young age, Butler began playing the harmonica with
Big Mama Thornton, a family friend. He preferred a life in music over farm work
and performed in Chicago, Detroit, Texas, and Louisiana with notable figures
such as Big Walter Horton, Sonny Boy Williamson II, and Sunnyland Slim. In 1966,
