George Schuller, born on December 29, 1958, in New York City, is an American
drummer known for his contributions to jazz. He studied at the New England
Conservatory of Music, graduating with a degree in jazz performance in 1982.
Schuller's early career saw him co-founding the big band Orange Then Blue in
1984, which released albums such as Music for Jazz Orchestra (1987) and Jumpin’
in the Future (1988). He also led the quartet Schulldogs, featuring his brother
Ed Schuller on bass, and collaborated with notable artists like Joe Lovano.
