Garth William Smith, also known as Garth Smith, was born on June 8, 1960, in
Brigham City, Utah, and began piano studies at age five. After serving a mission
to the Navajo people and earning a degree in Design Engineering Technology from
Brigham Young University in 1988, he entered the music industry as a keyboardist
in rock, country, jazz, and classical ensembles, eventually gaining recognition
with the 1999 CCMA “Song of the Year” award for Last Call. In 2014, he released
