Darin Alexander McFadyen, known professionally as FreQ Nasty, was born on
15 November 1969 in Fiji and began his career as a DJ and producer of electronic
breakbeat music. After early exposure to diverse genres through his parents, he
developed a passion for rhythm and began DJing in the late 1990s, releasing the
single "Freqazoid" and "Underglass" in 1997, which established his presence in
the breakbeat scene. In 1999 he issued the album Freq's Geeks & Mutilations,
