Fred Lonberg-Holm
Fred Lonberg-Holm, born on October 1, 1962, in Delaware, is an American cellist
and composer based in Chicago. He moved from New York City to Chicago in 1995.
He is most identified with free improvisation and free jazz, and also composed
concert works and scores for dance. He led the Valentine Trio with bassist Jason
Roebke and drummer Frank Rosaly, releasing the album Terminal Valentine (2007),
and directed the Lightbox Orchestra. His recordings include The Brain of the Dog
