François Poitou, an engineer by training, left finance for music, graduating
from the CMDL in 2012. In 2010, he founded the YOVO quartet. From 2014 to 2017,
he accompanies Natalia Doco, then collaborates with Emel Mathlouthi. From 2018
to 2024, he worked with numerous artists (Zaz, Nouvelle Vague, AO...) and
created a string quintet acclaimed by the French press. In 2020, he formed an
acclaimed duo with French electro-rap artist Pumpkin. In 2025, he released Old
Folks, his quintet's third album, a blend of compositions and folk covers
inspired by Anglo-Irish music.
