Frances Patricia Black, born on June 25, 1960, in Dublin, Ireland, is an Irish
singer and politician. She began her musical career at age 17 with her family's
traditional and contemporary Irish music band, The Black Family. In 1988, she
joined Arcady, gaining significant experience. After leaving Arcady in 1992,
Black collaborated with Kieran Goss on their album Frances Black and Kieran Goss
(1993), which included the track "Wall of Tears" featured on the compilation
