Farofa Carioca is a Brazilian musical group formed in 1995 in Rio de Janeiro.
The band is known for a blend of samba, pop, and funk and was founded by Seu
Jorge and Gabriel Moura. Jorge later gained recognition for a role in the film
Cidade de Deus. In 1998, Farofa Carioca released their debut album, Moro no
Brasil, under the Polygram label. Jorge left the group in 1999 to pursue a solo
career. Despite this, the band collaborated with Jorge on various occasions and
maintained a performance schedule across Brazil. Their discography also includes
Tubo de Ensaio (2008).
