French rock band from Givors (Rhône), Factory was formed in October 1975 around singer Yves Matrat and guitarist Lahmi Saïbi. The English-language repertoire of their first album, Black Stamp (1977), released by Cobra, was followed by a contract with Pathé Marconi to record the French-language Cache Ta Joie (1979) and Sur le Côté (1980). The band's larger audience, promoted by the specialist press and radio, led to them contributing two tracks to the soundtrack of Michel Nerval's hit comedy film Le bahut va craquer (1981), "C'est pas interdit de rêver" and "Qu'est-ce que tu peux ...
