Ernst Märzendorfer, born May 26, 1921, in Oberndorf bei Salzburg, Austria, was an Austrian conductor and composer. He studied in Graz under Robert Wagner and at the Mozarteum Salzburg under Clemens Krauss, debuting as a conductor in 1940 at the Grazer Oper. His international career included roles as chief conductor of the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg from 1953 to 1958 and as a guest conductor at the Wiener Staatsoper, where he debuted with Rigoletto in 1959.
