Erik Bye was a Norwegian-American folk singer and journalist born in 1926. After
serving in the Norwegian resistance during World War II, Bye worked as a
reporter for the Associated Press and the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation.
Their debut album, Vi Går Ombord (1960), was followed by Erik Bye Synger
Skjæraasen (1966). Bye released the albums Jeg Vet en Vind (1972) and Gammel Er
Min Fjord (1974). Bye supported the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue and helped
