Ensemble Syntagma was a vocal and instrumental ensemble of ancient music formed in 1996 in Metz. The group was established by the Russian composer and lute player Alexandre Danilevsky. The ensemble concentrated on the recovery of forgotten repertoires from the Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque periods and featured vocalists alongside wind and string instrumentalists. The group released its debut studio recording, Musique Baroque Russe, in 2002 through the label Pierre Verany.
