French alternative rock band Eiffel was founded in Bordeaux in 1998 by guitarist
and singer Romain Humeau. Taking its name from the song "Alec Eiffel " by the
American band Pixies, rather than the Eiffel Tower, the band had previously
existed for three years under the name Oobik & the Pucks. After the release in
2001 of a debut album entitled Abricotine (2001), the following opus Le Quart
d'Heure des Ahuris was written, composed, arranged and mixed by Humeau for
release in 2002, followed by the double live album Les Yeux Fermés (2004),
