Edda Művek, a Hungarian rock band, was formed in 1973 in Miskolc under the
initial name "Griff." The group, which later changed its name to Edda and
finally settled on Edda Művek, drew inspiration from Norse mythology for its
name. Frontman Attila Pataky "Muvek" joined the band in 1978, marking a pivotal
moment in their career. In 1979, they recorded their first single, "Minden
Sarkon Álltam Már / Álom" and released their debut album Edda Művek, in 1980,
which became a certified diamond disc in Hungary with over 500,000 units sold.
