Candace Lee Camacho, known professionally as duendita, was born in Jamaica,
Queens, New York, and is an American soul‑R&B singer‑songwriter. After studying
at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School and NYU’s Future Music Mogul program, she
adopted the stage name duendita, inspired by the concept of duende ("elf" or
"leprechaun" in Spanish). Her first single, "one of one," appeared in 2014,
