Jeremiah Manitopyes, known professionally as Drezus, was born on August 28,
1982, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He is a Canadian rapper and activist of Plains
Cree heritage. Early in his career, Drezus gained recognition from the Native
hip-hop group War Party after performing a 20-minute freestyle for them. This
led to his involvement with Rezofficial, whose debut album The Foundation won
the Canadian Aboriginal Music Award for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Album in 2004.
