Doyle Floyd Hendricks, known professionally as Doyle Holly, was born on June 30,
1936, in Perkins, Oklahoma, and was an American musician. He served in the
United States Army and worked in oil fields before moving to Bakersfield,
California, where he began playing guitar and bass in local clubs. Holly joined
Buck Owens and the Buckaroos as a bassist, replacing Merle Haggard. The band
achieved significant success with over 30 Top 40 singles on the country music
charts from the 1960s to early 1970s, including "Act Naturally" and "Love's
