Doug Lawrence, born on October 11, 1956, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, is an
American jazz tenor saxophonist. Raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, within a
musical family, he studied music at North Texas State University and the
University of New Mexico. In the early 1980s, Lawrence served as the lead tenor
saxophonist for the West Point Band's Jazz Knights. He spent over 25 years in
New York City, collaborating with notable artists such as Frank Sinatra and Tony
