DNA was an American no wave band formed in New York City in 1977 by guitarist
Arto Lindsay and keyboardist Robin Crutchfield. Later joined by drummer Ikue
Mori and bassist Tim Wright, the group became an important part of the late
1970s New York no wave scene. They were featured on Brian Eno’s influential 1978
compilation No New York, which introduced several Lower Manhattan no wave groups
to a wider audience. After Crutchfield left to form Dark Day, DNA’s music became
