Dick Wellstood

Richard MacQueen Wellstood, born November 25, 1927 in Greenwich, Connecticut, was an American jazz pianist. He received early piano lessons from his mother, a Juilliard School graduate and church organist, but was self-taught in stride and boogie-woogie styles. In 1946, he began performing with Bob Wilber's bands, followed by two years of accompanying Sidney Bechet, and toured Europe with Jimmy Archey in 1952.
