Owen Patrick Eugene McNulty, known as Dennis Day, was born on May 21, 1916, in the Bronx, New York, and became a singer and actor. He first gained attention performing with the Manhattan College glee club and later on radio, joining Larry Clinton's band in 1939 and appearing on Jack Benny's program that year. Day's breakthrough came with his NBC radio sitcom A Day in the Life of Dennis Day (1946-1951), which showcased his impressions.
