David Vest
David Vest, born on November 2, 1943, in Huntsville, Alabama, is an American
blues piano player and songwriter who began playing on a used piano given by his
grandmother in Birmingham. He performed professionally from age 14, opening for
Roy Orbison in 1962. His recording career started with Way Down Here (2003) and
continued with releases such as Serve Me Right to Shuffle (2005), Rock A While
(2010), East Meets Vest (2012), and Roadhouse Revelation (2014). He signed with
Cordova Bay Records, toured with Bill Black’s Combo, and earned five Muddy
