Dave Pirner
David Anthony Pirner, also known as Dave Pirner, was born on April 16, 1964, in
Minneapolis, Minnesota. A self‑taught drummer, he began his career with the punk
band Loud Fast Rules before switching to vocals and rhythm guitar, with Karl
Mueller and Dan Murphy. The band’s breakthrough came with the 1993 single
"Runaway Train" from the album Grave Dancers Union. Subsequent releases included
Candy from a Stranger (1998), The Silver Lining (2006), Delayed Reaction (2012),
