Dave Green
Dave Green, born on March 5, 1942 in London, is an English jazz bassist. After
singing in a church choir, he played skiffle music on a tea-chest bass before
buying a double bass at 15 and switching to jazz. In 1963, he joined Don
Rendell’s quintet, contributing to four albums until 1969, and in 1964 he
appeared with Benny Goodman on television. Over the following decades, he
collaborated with Keith Ingham, Pete Shade, Michael Garrick, and toured with
Humphrey Lyttelton until 1983, Stan Tracey into the 1990s, and later with Chris
