Ashton Dumar Norwill Simmonds – born on April 5, 1995, in Toronto, Canada - is a
singer-songwriter better known as Daniel Caesar. Born in the Scarborough
district of Toronto, he grew up in a musical household and began performing at
his local church at a very young age, citing soul and gospel music as some of
his earliest influences. After being kicked out of his house at the age of 17,
he adopted the stage name Daniel Caesar and began playing gigs around the city
