Claymore
Claymore is a German rock band from Heiligenhaus and Essen-Kettwig established
in 1987. The ensemble was founded by drummer Robert Butts, who lived in Germany
as the son of a Scottish soldier and aimed to combine traditional Scottish music
with rock music. The original lineup also included vocalist, guitarist, and
flautist Volker Sauer, lead guitarist Hans Homann, and bassist Michael Göttling.
In 1988, they added keyboardist Andy Ironhead and bagpipe player Mick Maitland.
