Cimarrón

Cimarrón is a Colombian musical group from the Orinoco region. Formed as a
professional band in 2000 by the singer Ana Veydó and the harpist Carlos Rojas,
the ensemble performs joropo music incorporating indigenous and African
influences. The band released its debut studio album, Sí, soy llanero, in 2004
through the label Smithsonian Folkways Recordings. The record was nominated for
Best Traditional World Music Album at the 47th Annual Grammy Awards. During its
