Chrystian was a Brazilian sertanejo singer and songwriter who was born as José
Pereira da Silva Neto in Goiânia, Brazil, in 1956. He is famous for the hit
single “Don't Say Goodbye” (1973) and for his long-term duo with his brother
Ralf. Chrystian achieved early professional recognition at age six and was later
contracted by TV Bandeirantes. In 1973, his first hit topped the charts for
nineteen weeks; however, record label policies at the time forced him to sing in
English and appear as a "ghost" singer without his photo on album covers. In the
