Chris Hopkins
Christian Peter “Chris” Hopkins, born on April 18, 1972, in Princeton, New
Jersey, is an American jazz musician, pianist, and saxophonist who is dedicated
to traditional jazz. He grew up in Bochum, Germany, receiving classical training
from age six. He discovered jazz at thirteen, developing a stride‑and‑swing
style that led to his 2000 debut Daybreak on Arbors Records, named a Top‑Ten
Album of the Year by Jazz Classique. He has appeared on more than 30 recordings
