The Chœur de l'Armée Française, also known as the French Army Chorus, was
established in 1982 by Charles Hernu, then Minister of Defense. Initially formed
to accompany official ceremonies and commemorations, the choir became part of
the Garde républicaine in 1994. Composed of 45 male choristers, it began being
directed by Aurore Tillac in 2007. The choir's repertoire included traditional
music, hymns, military songs, religious chants, classical lyric works for male
