Mauricio Enrique Castillo Moya, known professionally as Chinoy, and born on
January 11, 1981, in San Antonio, Chile, is a singer-songwriter. He began his
musical journey in Placilla de San Antonio with the local punk band Don Nadie.
In 2005, he gained attention after performing with Argentine band Loquero and
later moved to Valparaíso to study art. Chinoy gained national recognition when
filmmaker Andrés Wood invited him to compose music for the film La buena vida in
