Charles "Chick" Bullock, born on September 16, 1898, in Montana, was an American
jazz and dance band vocalist. He began his career in vaudeville and sang in
movie palaces before transitioning to studio work in the late 1920s. Bullock
recorded around 500 tunes over his career, often under pseudonyms such as Sleepy
Hall. He collaborated extensively with notable bands, including those led by
Duke Ellington, Luis Russell, Cab Calloway, and Tommy Dorsey. His recordings
