Marcellus McCarver, known as Celly Cel, and born in Vallejo, California on
December 1, 1970, is a rapper. He began his music career in the early 1990s by
releasing titles on cassettes independently, including "Lifestyle of a Mack"
(1991) and Funk 4 Life (1993). Celly Cel's breakthrough came when he signed with
Sick Wid It Records, founded by E-40, leading to the release of his debut album
Heat 4 Yo Azz in 1994. This album achieved underground success, peaking at
