Carlos Henriquez
Jazz bassist Carlos Henriquez was born in the Bronx, New York in 1979. At a
young age, he studied music, playing guitar through junior high school.
Enrolling in the Juilliard School’s Music Advancement Program, he switched his
focus to the bass. While attending the LaGuardia High School of Music & Arts and
Performing Arts , he joined the LaGuardia Concert Jazz Ensemble. In 1996, the
ensemble won first place in Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Essentially Ellington High
School Jazz Band Competition and Festival. Just after he left high school,
