Candy Flip, an electronic music duo from Stoke-on-Trent, England, were formed in
1990 by Danny Spencer and Ric Peet. The band, named after the slang term
"candyflipping" for the practice of taking ecstasy and LSD simultaneously,
initially gained recognition with their cover version of "Strawberry Fields
Forever", which reached Number 3 on the UK Singles Chart in 1990. This track was
a club hit before crossing over into the pop chart and featured a drum beat
sampled from James Brown's "Funky Drummer". Candy Flip's debut album,
