C. Sathya

C. Sathya is a South Indian music composer and playback singer. Born and raised in Chennai, he comes from a musical family. His father, Chidambaram Kalaivanar, was a singer and harmonium player in N. S. Krishnan's drama troupe. He began learning traditional music from his father at the age of eight and later studied Carnatic music under several teachers. He began his career as a keyboard player, working with music groups and later becoming the main keyboard player for the Gangai Amaran Mellisai group in 1997.
