Brenda and the Tabulations were an American R&B group formed in 1966 in
Philadelphia. The original lineup included Brenda Payton, Eddie L. Jackson,
Maurice Coates, and Jerry Jones. The group was known for its distinctive doo-wop
sound, featuring Payton's sweet vocals with background male harmonies. Their
first major hit was "Dry Your Eyes," which reached number 20 on the US charts in
