Bob Crosby
Bob Crosby, born George Robert Crosby on August 23, 1913, in Spokane,
Washington, United States, was an American jazz singer and bandleader. He began
singing in the early 1930s with the Delta Rhythm Boys, Anson Weeks, and the
Dorsey Brothers before taking over leadership of Ben Pollack's former band in
1935. He formed a Dixieland octet within the orchestra called the Bob-Cats,
featuring musicians such as Ray Bauduc and Bob Haggart. The group achieved hit
singles including “South Rampart Street Parade”, “March of the Bob Cats”, and
the bass-and-drums duet “Big Noise from Winnetka”...
