Blo were a Nigerian psychedelic funk ensemble from Lagos formed in 1972. The group was established by Laolu “Akins” Akintobi, Berkely “Ike” Jones, and Mike “Gbenga” Odumosu. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style fusing Afrobeat rhythms with funk and psychedelic rock influences. Before establishing the ensemble, the trio performed in the highlife group the Clusters. Their recording career began with the debut studio recording Chapter One (1973).
