Ben Cramer, born Bernardus Kramer on February 17, 1947, in Amsterdam,
Netherlands, is a singer and actor. He made his television debut in 1966 with
his backing group the Spaklings and was discovered by Annie de Reuver, which led
to his first record deal. His initial single "Zai zai zai" reached number 7 on
the Dutch chart in 1967. Cramer's career included representing the Netherlands
in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1973 with "De oude muzikant", which finished
14th out of 17 entries. He returned to the contest in 1981 but did not advance.
