Ara Ketu
Ara Ketu is a Brazilian music group from Salvador da Bahia and a representative
of Axé music and Sambareggae, founded on March 8, 1980, in the Periperi district
as a bloc afro. The ensemble participated regularly in Salvador’s carnival,
evolving over the years into a smaller ensemble that performs on stage and
records CDs, selling millions of copies. Their releases include Contos de Benin
(1988), De Periperi (1993), Bom Demais (1994), Dec (1995), O Melhor do Ara Ketu
(1995), and Ao Vivo (1998), which earned a Gold certification in Brazil. Their
