Apani Nicole Smith, known professionally as Apani B. Fly, was born on September
17, 1974, in the United States and is a hip-hop emcee. In 1996, she released her
first 12-inch single "Estragen" independently, followed by guest appearances on
projects with Organized Konfusion, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch,
Nujabes, and MF Doom. Her debut full-length album Rhyme-Related, as a member of
