Johanna Louise “Anneke” Grönloh was a Dutch singer born on 7 June 1942 in
Tondano. She was raised in Eindhoven and achieved professional recognition in
1959 after winning a national talent show. Grönloh became a prominent figure in
the 1960s with hit singles including “Brandend zand” (1961), which is one of the
best-selling Dutch songs of all time, and “Paradiso” (1962). In 1964, she
represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest with the track “Jij
