Johanna Louise “Anneke” Grönloh was a Dutch singer born on 7 June 1942 in Tondano. She was raised in Eindhoven and achieved professional recognition in 1959 after winning a national talent show. Grönloh became a prominent figure in the 1960s with hit singles including “Brandend zand” (1961), which is one of the best-selling Dutch songs of all time, and “Paradiso” (1962). In 1964, she represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest with the track “Jij bent mijn leven” (1964), finishing in number 10.
