Andrew Peterson, born on June 4, 1974 in Monticello, Illinois, is an American Christian musician and author. He began touring in 1996 with his wife Jamie and instrumentalist Gabe Scott. His breakthrough came when Derek Webb of Caedmon's Call invited him to open for their band, leading to a successful performance and subsequent tour invitations. Peterson signed with Watershed/Essential Records in 1999 and released his full-length album Carried Along in 2000.
