An Youqi, born on October 14, 1982 in Harbin, China, is a singer who rose to
prominence through her participation in Super Girl, a national singing contest.
At the age of 22, An began training as a dancer but later shifted her focus to
singing, performing in pubs before being discovered by talent agents. In 2004,
she won the first season of Super Girl and subsequently signed with EE Media,
releasing her debut album Angela, which sold over one million copies in mainland
