Alok
Real name Alok Achkar Peres Petrillo, DJ Alok was born in Goiânia, the capital
and largest city of the Brazilian state of Goiás, on August 26, 1991, to parents
who were themselves DJs, Swarup and Ekanta, pioneers of psychedelic trance and
creators of Universo Parallelo, an electronic music festival in Bahia. He began
playing music at the age of 12 with his twin brother Bhaskar Petrillo, before
embarking on a solo career at 19. From 2012, he released tracks that would soon
earn him a solid reputation on the Brazilian electronic scene, from
"Superstition" to "Who Gives", via "Arabe...
