Albertina Walker, born August 29, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois, was an American
singer. She began singing in the youth choir at West Point Baptist Church and
joined several gospel groups before forming The Caravans in 1951. Her
breakthrough came when she started performing solo in the mid-1970s, signing
with multiple record labels. She recorded over 60 albums, including Put a Little
